Christian Heritage School: Security Job Description

Provides security for the school staff, students, buildings and property through patrol of school building(s) and building perimeters, including parking lots, to prevent unauthorized visitors or property damage and to provide for general building security

• Patrol the school campus and areas around the school including unsupervised areas.
• Intervene in activities that may result in injury and encourage students to not participate in such conduct.
• Intercept visitors and check for proper identification and escort to exits if not authorized.
• Notify police and emergency personnel when there is an emergency or unusual situation.
• Assist police, fire personnel, and other emergency crews when necessary.

• Must have, or be willing to obtain and keep, the following security related certifications, including but not limited to, permits, certifications and/or licenses to carry and use firearms or other weapons, on private school property and the following:

CT Concealed Carry Permit: CT Dept. Public Safety

Annual Blue Card Recertification: CT requirement, duty weapon qualification standard

Countering the Mass Shooter course: United States Concealed Carry Association

Defensive Spray: Less than Lethal

CPR/First Aid/AED certification

QPR Certification: Question, Persuade and Refer
