Associate Bankruptcy Attorney will represent clients in bankruptcy proceedings, including Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 bankruptcies. Conduct legal research and analysis related to bankruptcy laws and regulations. Provide guidance and advice to clients on bankruptcy options, procedures, and implications. Prepare and file bankruptcy petitions, motions, and other legal documents. Attend bankruptcy hearings, trials, and meetings with clients, creditors, and trustees. Negotiate with creditors on behalf of clients to reach settlements and agreements. Work closely with paralegals and other legal staff to manage caseloads effectively. Stay current with changes in bankruptcy laws and regulations. Maintain accurate and detailed records of client interactions and case progress. Uphold ethical standards and ensure compliance with all legal requirements. Minimum Requirements: 1 year of experience in a job offered or a related position. Must have the following education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Master of Laws (LLM). Must have the following licenses: License to practice Law in any U.S. jurisdiction. Admission to the general bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Must have the following experience: Experience in conducting legal research and analysis related to bankruptcy laws and regulations. Experience in preparing and filing bankruptcy petitions and schedules, motions, and other bankruptcy-related legal documents. Experience in managing the caseload and paraprofessionals. Ability to utilize bankruptcy software, BestCase. Experience in using discovery software, DISCO. Ability to conduct legal research in Westlaw or LexisNexis. Knowledge of utilizing PC Law.
