ROLE DESCRIPTION

This is a full-time on-site role for an Associate Attorney located in Houston, TX at Parkins & Rubio LLP. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal advice, conducting research, negotiating, and handling labor and employment law matters in the context of financial restructurings and bankruptcy cases.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong research and negotiation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and admission to the State Bar
• Experience in bankruptcy law is a plus
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• 2-5 years corporate bankruptcy experience
• Admitted to practice in Texas and the U.S. District and Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas (admitted to practice in other states and federal courts is a plus)
• Extensive experience in legal research and writing on both bankruptcy matters and ancillary state law matters including breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, fraudulent transfer, etc.
• Excellent communication and organization abilities
• Strong work ethic with the ability to balance and prioritize workload that may include several complex matters at one time

· Must be an effective communicator by phone and video conference

· Must have advanced skills with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and Westlaw

· Experience with Clio and NetDocuments is a plus

· Must be able and willing to support multiple partners

· A portable book of business is a plus
