About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic financial leadership and ensure the institution's financial sustainability. The CFO will be a key advisor to the President and a strategic partner to the Deans, leading all financial planning and budget development activities. This includes the oversight of annual operating and capital budgets, multi-year financial forecasts, and long-range planning tools. The successful candidate will also be responsible for financial and compliance oversight, managing complex financial transactions, and ensuring adherence to GAAP, federal and state regulations, and higher education accreditors. Collaboration with senior leadership, faculty, and staff is essential to align financial strategy with the institution's mission and academic priorities. Applicants for the CFO position at the company must have a Master's degree in business, finance, or a related field, with a CPA strongly preferred, and a minimum of 7-10 years' of progressive financial leadership experience, particularly in the higher education sector. The role requires a proven ability to manage budgets, investments, audits, and financial planning processes in a complex environment. Experience with grant funding, endowment management, and financial aid modeling is also preferred. The ideal candidate will have high-level proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software, with experience in ERP systems being a plus. Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills are necessary, as is the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
