About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive citywide information security program. The CISO will be responsible for designing and directing the program, managing risks, and ensuring the protection and confidentiality of data and other information assets. This role involves collaborating with city leadership on risk management, overseeing disaster recovery and business continuity, and representing the division in meetings on data security policies and programs. The CISO will also be tasked with leading security management practices, conducting threat and vulnerability assessments, and ensuring compliance with security policies and governance. Applicants for the CISO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years' of directly related experience, with a preference for those with 7 years' in information technology or security management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information security principles and frameworks, security program management, and experience with a range of security technologies and regulatory compliance requirements. Certification in relevant security areas is also preferred. The CISO will be expected to provide supervision, set performance expectations, and guide the team's efforts, as well as recommend professional development for IT security staff. The role requires a proactive approach to addressing security threats and a commitment to ongoing security and privacy training across all organizational levels.
