About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Policy and Program Officer (CPPO) to lead its strategic efforts in reshaping public education. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and advancing evidence-based policy solutions that have a transformative impact on the education system, particularly for underserved students. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of school systems, a strong passion for state policy, and a proven track record in policy reform. Key responsibilities for the CPPO include leading the organization's policy strategy, managing a portfolio of significant issues, and building strategic partnerships to advocate for systemic change. The ideal candidate will have over 12 years' experience in education leadership, policy, research, or advocacy, with a focus on evidence-based practices. They should be adept at coalition building, and collective action, and leading a high-performing team. The role demands a strategic, hands-on leader who can balance the big picture with attention to detail, and who is passionate about making a difference in public education. A Bachelor's degree is required, with an advanced degree being a plus, and a strong commitment to the values of equity and opportunity in education is essential.
