About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to spearhead its digital transformation into a modern e-commerce marketplace. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the re-architecture and rebuilding of the company's web stack to support a scalable e-commerce and auction marketplace, with a focus on real-time bidding, inventory search, payment, and logistics tools. This role involves developing a unified B2B/B2C platform for wholesale equipment transactions, building and scaling a high-performing engineering team, and driving innovation in customer experience to make the buying and selling of equipment as seamless as possible. The CTO will also be instrumental in establishing cloud infrastructure, DevOps, data warehousing, and modern APIs to unlock new revenue opportunities and ensure the security and compliance of the digital platform. The ideal candidate will have a background as a CTO or VP of Engineering in a marketplace, SaaS, or platform-based company, with a proven track record in launching enterprise platforms and leading product development. Expertise in cloud-based infrastructure, microservices, and API-first design is essential, as is experience in building native mobile apps and integrating real-time data dashboards. A passion for innovation and practical application of AI in B2B software is a must, and experience in modernizing legacy systems or working in AgTech, industrials, or equipment verticals is a bonus. The role offers the opportunity to shape and own the technology vision of the company and to build a modern marketplace that could significantly impact the way machinery and equipment are bought and sold.
