Job Title: Commercial Litigation Attorney (Plaintiff-Side)
Location: Hybrid (Onsite 4 days/week, Flexible Friday), Brooklyn, New York
Contract Type: Temporary (3-Month Assignment, Potential for Extension)
Pay Rate: $45-$70/hr depending on experience

Firm Overview:
Our firm is a plaintiff-side practice working with a major client, a prominent collection agency. We are currently seeking a skilled Commercial Litigation Attorney with at least three years of experience to join our team on a temporary, hybrid basis. The attorney will work onsite at the client's office in Brooklyn with another attorney and a support team of two paralegals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft motions, including motions for summary judgment.
• Propound and respond to discovery requests.
• Provide legal support in the form of backup to the senior attorney, including case strategy discussions and document preparation.
• Engage in occasional client communication to provide updates and clarify legal matters.
• Review and apply civil procedure rules in daily work.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of commercial litigation experience.
• Plaintiff-side experience required (defense background is acceptable if the candidate has also worked on the plaintiff side).
• Collections experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Merchant cash advance experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong understanding of civil procedure rules and litigation processes.
• Experience drafting motions, including motions for summary judgment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
• Flexibility to work in a hybrid model (onsite 4 days per week with flexible Fridays).

Compensation:

• Hourly rate: $45-$70/hour, based on experience.

Contract Duration:

• This is a three-month assignment with the potential for extension depending on client needs and performance.
