Position Summary

We are seeking a high-energy, client-focused Design Consultant to join our team!

This role combines consultative sales, design expertise, and operational follow-through to help homeowners and businesses achieve customized solutions for blinds, shades, shutters, and drapery.

You will generate leads, conduct consultations, manage client communications, and deliver an exceptional customer experience from initial contact through professional installation and post-sale follow-up.

Objectives

• Generate new business opportunities through canvassing, past customer outreach, networking, and community events.
• Conduct on-site consultations, including accurate window measurements, design presentations, and customized proposals.
• Achieve sales goals by presenting product benefits, overcoming objections, and closing deals.
• Manage all aspects of client communication from deposit collection to order updates, backorders, and installation scheduling.
• Deliver follow-ups, thank-you notes, testimonial requests, and video documentation of projects.
• Maintain a clean and professional showroom presence, along with updated sample kits, and CRM tools.
• Represent the company at local networking events and trade shows, building long-term relationships.

Competencies

• Strong consultative sales skills with the ability to tailor solutions to client needs and budgets.
• Knowledge of window treatment products, including blinds, shades, shutters, motorization, and drapery systems.
• Proficiency with digital tools including Google Suite, CRM, and mobile presentation apps.
• Excellent time management skills, balance showroom coverage, in-home consultations, and canvassing.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a polished, professional appearance and demeanor.
• Comfort in demonstrating motorization technology and energy efficiency benefits of various products.
• Ability to manage multiple client projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional service standards.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally for client consultations.

Education/Experience

• Sales or design consulting experience in the home improvement, furniture, or luxury interiors industry.
• High School Diploma or equivalent GED

Physical Requirements
