Job Description

Location: anywhere in the Northern California area

KEY PURPOSE STATEMENT

The District Sales Manager (DSM) will be responsible for driving sales volume within their assigned geography and targeted outlets. The DSM will partner with distributors and cultivate customer relationships in the off and on premise channels.

The DSM will have accountability for cultivating these relationships and driving execution against retail standards that deliver availability, visibility and sales volume. The incumbent for this role will need to be a self-starter who can work independently and assume responsibility for managing their resources to deliver their targets while remaining within budget.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Customer Partnership Management

  • Focuses on a hunting approach to grow share, distribution, volume and revenue within a defined Retail territory.
  • Visit assigned on and off trade retail accounts to improve volume, increase distribution, monitor price and shelf space management within assigned territory.
  • Increase brand awareness of Asahi Super Dry with distributor sales team through coordinated selling efforts and consistent communication.
  • Gather market and customer information and provide feedback on trends.
  • Manage Key Regional Chain accounts, new item submission and maximize distribution.
  • Participate in new item/product launch events including profile tastings. The beer industry is meant to be fun!
  • Attend sales meetings to discuss sales issues, competitive activities, and opportunities to improve sales efforts
  • Represent Asahi Super Dry through promotions and company events.
  • Leverages the company’s CRM tool and adheres to CRM protocols and routines.

Performance Management

  • Actively seeks business building opportunities within territory.
  • Focuses on key business drivers to achieve results.

Planning and Organizing

  • Organizes and plans effectively as per the routines and processes of the company.
  • Develop and manage annual account plans for retail accounts.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or previous experience with a distributor or supplier in a related field is strongly preferred
  • Chain Key Account management is strongly preferred
  • Must be 21 years of age and have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Strong selling and negotiation skills
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to grow and lead customer relationships
  • Ability to move products, hang merchandise and fulfill other physical requirements including repetitive lifting, bending and pulling/pushing
  • Passion for premium international beer

TRAVEL

Extensive travel within the regional market area is required and WFH for office days. Limited travel for company meetings.
