DAY IN THE LIFE You typically work from
7:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday .
As our Estimator, you help secure more business for our company by preparing accurate, comprehensive estimates for proposed roofing jobs and demonstrating to the client why we're the best choice. You gain an understanding of the project scope by visiting work sites, evaluating existing roofs, identifying damages, and determining what work needs to be done.
By studying plans and specifications, you calculate projected costs for materials, labor, equipment, and other possible expenses. You also speak with the clients about the project, reviewing job details for accuracy and adjusting estimates to reflect client feedback. Attentively, you answer questions, manage budgets, navigate building codes, and tackle other responsibilities as needed to create accurate, competitive roof estimates.
QUALIFICATIONS - 5+ years of experience in roofing estimation or a similar field
- 1+ years of experience using geometry and algebra
- 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Word
- Working knowledge of building codes with the ability to read and interpret project specifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outside in inclement weather conditions and extreme temperatures
Proficiency in Excel or strong negotiation skills would be a bonus. A willingness to travel 25% would also be preferred for this estimating position.
