JOB TITLE: Health Information Associate
Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Status: Non-exempt
Reports to: Data Quality Manager
JOB SUMMARY: The Health Information Associate is a member of the Health Information Management team at Spectra Health. They balance their time between two key areas of the Health Information Management team: records and referrals. They work to ensure that health records remain secure and are disseminated in accordance with company policy and federal law. They also work to process and maintain clinical referrals both incoming and outgoing to community partners of Spectra Health. This position communicates with all teams at Spectra Health but works closely with the Clinical Records Specialist and Clinical Referrals Specialist to provide support to those respective specialties.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The Health Information Associate position is primarily a desk
job that requires the ability to sit for long periods of time (up to 8 hours) at a desk or workstation. Periodically, the position requires lifting or carrying items that would be appropriate in an office environment, not more than 20lbs.
