The Commercial Field Adjuster is responsible for handling and examining property damage by weather hazards, water, fire, vandalism, or any form of accident. The job also involves working in the field visiting damaged properties and carrying out a thorough investigation to get background information on the damage. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of insurance laws and regulations, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Investigating and determining loss coverage and adjusting all elements of property loss claims.
• Negotiating with contractors, other insurance companies, public adjusters, attorneys, or any other parties involved in the claim process .
• Gather and analyze information from a variety of sources, including police reports, medical records, and photographs.
• Determine liability and negotiate settlements with claimants.
• Close claims in a timely and efficient manner.
• Stay up to date on insurance laws and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with claimants, policyholders, and other insurance professionals.
• Maintain accurate records of all claim activity.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of property field claims experience, with commercial experience preferred.
• Motivated, confident, and experienced in handling field commercial claims.
• Possess state-issued adjusters license.
• Valid drivers license and clean driving record, and willingness to travel to claim inspections.
• Proven experience as a Commercial Field Adjuster or similar role in the insurance industry.
• Strong knowledge of commercial insurance policies, coverage types, and regulations.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced operating knowledge of Xactimate.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Preferred:

• Experience in multiple lines of insurance, such as liability and property.
• Possession of advanced industry designations.
• Experience handling complex losses, up to and in excess of $2 million.
• 10+ years of claims handling experience.
