Supervises, trains and monitors the activities of assigned liability claims adjusters and other claims personnel.
Manages overall operations of designated area of authority. Interviews, hires, trains and directs personnel. Prepares and conducts performance assessments, coordinates discipline and oversees Employee development as required.
Reviews liability adjuster claims on a regular basis in accordance with company policy. Checks for coverage, ensuring timely investigation, reserves and resolution of claims while maintaining fair and adequate settlement amounts. Acts as a resource for answering claims questions and inquiries. Provides additional services as required. Takes action as necessary.
Reviews claim correspondence and provides counsel on further action.
Resolves coverage or unusual questions within designated authority. Conducts related research as necessary.
Receives and directs processing of legal papers served upon Policyholders involving claims action. Also directs activities of liability adjusters and outside legal counsel as required.
Maintains and applies a working knowledge of liability adjuster's files. Maintains knowledge of statutory laws.
Makes recommendations to and participates with claims manager in developing and evaluating claims procedures.
Assists in preparation for trial procedures. Attends pre-trial functions and trials as necessary.
Assists claims manager and may act on his/her behalf as necessary.

Minimum Required Education Equivalents Bachelor's degree in business or related field and two years liability claims experience, or experience as a Claims Supervisor, required ; or Associate's degree in business or related field and four years liability claims experience, or experience as a Claims Supervisor; or High school diploma and six years liability claims adjusting experience, or experience as a Claims Supervisor required.
