Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Locum Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant - General Surgery for our client in California! Job Responsibilities * Perform preoperative consults on surgical patients, including risk assessments and information gathering. * Conduct patient interviews and complete full consult notes for day-of-surgery cases. * Report abnormal lab and test results to the medical director. * Address patient concerns and answer questions from RNs in the clinic. * Discuss any patient-related issues with the medical director. * Alert the medical director to logistical concerns affecting patient care. Qualifications * Surgical experience required. * At least 50 clinical services, cases, or assessments in an acute care hospital within the last 24 months. * Active CA medical license. * Active CA DEA license. * At least two years of current hospital clinical activity in the specialty. * Explanation required for any gaps in practice greater than three months. * Case logs must be provided upon presentation for surgical specialties. Working Hours * Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. * Approximately 14-week assignment. * Guaranteed 8 hours per day. * Overtime applies after 8 hours in a day. Skills * Strong clinical assessment and surgical patient evaluation skills. * Excellent communication skills with patients, RNs, and medical directors. * Ability to identify and escalate abnormal findings promptly. * Proficiency in completing detailed consult documentation. * Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple patient cases efficiently. All travel expenses are reimbursed by our client and Orchard covers malpractice insurance with tail coverage!
