POSITION SUMMARY:

The Mailroom Clerk is a customer service focused professional who is interested in working in a fast-paced and demanding environment. This position will have a primary responsibility of processing, sealing, metering, and accounting, of the mail brought in by the drivers or produced internally.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•   Apply the correct rates to the mail and that the customer/department are coded with minimal errors
  • o USPS compliance – in all mail
  • o Mail is processed correctly and accurately
  • o Mail flows through organization quickly
  • · Maximum uptime on all machines

o Hardware and software

· Look for improvements in processing customer’s mail

· Support other area’s processing in down time

· Notify Presort Supervisor of any machine related issues and place a service call

· Oversee odd jobs that are processed

· Responsible for incoming mail sort

· Assist in demonstrations for customers

· Manage supplies

· Other duties as assigned.

•   High School diploma or equivalent

• Electromechanical understanding – run equipment

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

•   This position is in a warehouse environment
• Standard & specialized office equipment is used (such as computers, phones, copier, mail machine, folder inserter, printers, sorters, etc.) as well as tool use (screw driver, clamps, drills, pliers, wrenches, etc.)
• This is an active position
• This position would require some lifting/carrying (up to 20lbs)
• Filing, bending, standing, reaching with hands/arms, using tools, etc. as necessary
• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to speak and hear

TRAVEL:

  This position requires little to no travel.
