About the Texas Civil Rights Project

The Texas Civil Rights Project (TCRP) is a community lawyering organization boldly serving the movement for equality and justice in and out of the courts with three key programs: Voting Rights, Criminal Injustice, and Beyond Borders. We seek to advance a vision of a Texas in which all communities can thrive with dignity and justice, and without fear. We believe that legal and political advocacy and litigation are critical tools to protect and advance the civil rights of everyone in Texas, particularly our state’s most marginalized populations, and to affect positive and lasting change to law and policy.

TCRP comprises three regional offices across Texas with over 50 employees and an annual budget of over $7 million dollars. This position also allows for remote work from anywhere in Texas, with some required travel and in-person activities. The in-person activities are typically based out of any of the Texas Civil Rights Projects locations: Alamo (in the Rio Grande Valley), Austin, Dallas, and Houston. We are, proudly, a unionized workplace, we welcome innovative thinkers, and offer flexibility to different people’s styles and strengths. Learn more at

In odd years, we work in collaboration with our Policy Team to create lobby days, partner briefings, and volunteer training and engagement opportunities at the Texas Legislature.
