ABR is recruiting a temporary Payroll Specialist to start as soon as possible.
The hours are Monday – Thursday, 7am-4pm and 8am-12pm on Fridays, but they can be very flexible with the schedule. The pay is $18 -$20 per hour.
Payroll Specialist Responsibilities Include: - Establish and maintain rapport with clients and provide excellent customer service.
- Manage multiple client weekly and bi-weekly payrolls using current bureau payroll system.
- Accurately enter payroll information for clients (e.g. new hires, terminations, earnings, deductions, direct deposits, garnishments, withholdings, etc.) .
- Process multiple client weekly and bi-weekly payrolls accurately and timely.
- Handle post-payroll processing and reporting (e.g. retirement plans, child support and other garnishments).
- Prepare and maintain accurate processing records and reports.
- Resolve discrepancies and assist with preparation of reports for local/state/federal agencies .
- Assist clients with navigation of the payroll software.
- Provide payroll client support and resolution.
- Assist with client audits and other reporting requirements as needed.
- May assist with quarterly and year-end payroll reporting and tax filings.
- Remain in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and best payroll practices.
- Maintain accurate record-keeping and documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times and safeguard sensitive information.
- Other responsibilities as needed.
Payroll Specialist Requirements: - Associate degree in accounting, human resources, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Minimum 1 – 2 years of recent payroll experience, bureau experience is beneficial.
- Understanding of payroll fundamentals.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- Exceptional client service and relationship management abilities.
- Experience with CyberPay or comparable multi-client payroll bureau system or HRIS is beneficial.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, OneNote).
- CPP certification is beneficial, but not required
