The UHealth system at the University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Pharmacist at our UHealth Deerfield location. The Pharmacist compounds and dispenses prescribed drugs in a healthcare facility environment. Also, an employee in this position transfers prescriptions, handles incoming physician calls, logs data into applicable databases, and performs drug utilization review. Core job functions include implementing and maintaining procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals according to policies and legal requirements; compounding and dispensing medications as prescribed by doctors and dentists; calculating medication volumes; assessing medication identity, strength, and purity; reviewing prescriptions for accuracy and suitability; providing information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage; analyzing prescription trends; maintaining records such as pharmacy files, patient profiles, inventories, and control records; advising customers on medication brands, medical equipment, and healthcare supplies; and adhering to University policies and safeguarding assets. Core qualifications include a Pharm.D. degree from an accredited institution, a valid State of Florida Pharmacist license, and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience. Skills required include data collection, organization, analysis, problem-solving, and sound judgment in decision-making.
