Job Summary

St. Mary Catholic Virtue School, in alliance with the family, St. Mary Catholic Virtue School promotes the flourishing of the students in a story of friendship with Christ through virtues. We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Primary Teacher’s Aide to support the classroom teacher. The aide will assist in maintaining a nurturing, orderly, and engaging environment that reflects our Catholic mission and supports student learning and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in classroom instruction, small group work, and one-on-one student support.
• Help implement classroom routines, centers, and transitions with consistency and care.
• Support the classroom environment by preparing materials, organizing supplies, and maintaining cleanliness.
• Provide supervision of students during recess, lunch, arrival, and dismissal as assigned.
• Model and reinforce school-wide expectations and virtue-based behavior strategies.
• Build positive relationships with students and families that reflect the dignity and values of the Catholic faith.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
• Assist with classroom displays, bulletin boards, and student work organization.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development as needed.
• Support the mission, vision, and values of Catholic education in all duties and interactions

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; relevant college coursework or degree in education preferred.
• Experience working with children, especially in a school setting, is strongly preferred.
• Understanding of child development and classroom dynamics in early primary grades.
• Willingness to work as a supportive team member under the direction of a lead teacher.
• Ability to maintain composure, patience, and flexibility in a fast-paced school environment.
• Demonstrated respect for the Catholic faith and willingness to support the religious identity of the school.
• Must complete or be willing to complete all background checks and training required by the Archdiocese and the Colorado Department of Early Childhood (including Safe Environment Training, CPR/First Aid, and Standard Precautions).
