About the Role: The Scale Operator plays a critical role in ensuring accurate weight measurements for materials and products within a manufacturing, shipping, or logistics environment. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining weighing equipment to guarantee compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The Scale Operator will collaborate closely with warehouse, production, and quality control teams to facilitate smooth and efficient operations. Accuracy and attention to detail are paramount, as the data collected impacts inventory management, billing, and safety protocols. Ultimately, the Scale Operator helps maintain operational integrity by providing precise and reliable weight data that supports overall business objectives.
Minimum Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math skills and ability to perform accurate measurements.
- Experience operating industrial scales or similar weighing equipment.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records.
- Strong attention to detail and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications: - Previous experience in a manufacturing, logistics, or warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with scale calibration procedures and equipment maintenance.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to material handling and equipment operation.
Responsibilities: - Operate various types of scales and weighing equipment to measure incoming and outgoing materials accurately.
- Record and verify weight data, ensuring all measurements comply with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of scales to maintain accuracy and functionality.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to coordinate weighing activities and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain detailed logs and documentation related to weight measurements and equipment maintenance.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or irregularities to the maintenance team promptly.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
Skills: The Scale Operator uses attention to detail daily to ensure all weight measurements are precise and reliable, which is essential for inventory accuracy and compliance. Strong communication skills facilitate effective coordination with various teams to manage workflow and resolve any discrepancies quickly.
