Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A professional opportunity is available for an experienced Sign Language Interpreter to provide onsite support at an elementary school for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position is based in Holmen, Wisconsin, and requires specialized experience working with students with Down Syndrome.

Responsibilities:

• Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation for students with hearing impairments, focusing on those with Down Syndrome.
• Facilitate effective munication between students, teachers, and staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion.
• Collaborate with educational professionals to support individualized learning plans and classroom activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all relevant ethical and professional standards.
• Attend meetings and training sessions as required to enhance skills and stay updated on best practices.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, specifically with elementary-aged students.
• Demonstrated expertise in working with students diagnosed with Down Syndrome.
• Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting techniques.
• Excellent munication skills and the ability to adapt interpretation to various learning environments.
• Availability to work onsite throughout the school year on a contract basis.
