Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 educational opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter providing one-on-one classroom support to a kindergarten student. This contract position spans the 2025-2026 academic school year, beginning in August and concluding in late May. The role is based in a school setting located in Jacksonville, Arkansas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct one-on-one sign language interpretation support to a kindergarten student in a classroom environment
• Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, and peers to promote an inclusive learning experience
• Collaborate with educational staff to ensure the student's access to the curriculum and participation in school activities
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards throughout the assignment

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably within a K-12 educational setting
• Minimum acceptable Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score demonstrating interpretation proficiency
• Valid licensure by the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH), either currently held or actively pursued
• Strong understanding of age-appropriate communication techniques for young children

This contract runs for the full academic year from August 2025 through May 26, 2026, offering the chance to support early childhood education in an inclusive setting.
