Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Enhance munication and support student learning as a Sign Language Interpreter within a K-12 school setting in Mount Pleasant, SC. This contract position spans the plete school year, providing an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the educational experience of students who rely on sign language for effective munication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate clear and accurate interpretation of spoken language into sign language and vice versa during classroom instruction, school events, and individual student interactions.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion for students with hearing impairments.
• Assist in fostering an inclusive educational environment by promoting understanding and awareness of sign language and Deaf culture.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
• Adapt interpreting strategies to meet diverse learning environments and student needs.

Desired Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with the ability to interpret plex educational content.
• Prior experience working as a sign language interpreter in educational or similar settings preferred.
• Strong understanding of K-12 academic vocabulary and curriculum standards.
• Excellent munication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
