Job Title: Manager, Sports

Location: 100% Onsite – Santa Ana, CA

Salary Range: $62,780 – $70,080 annually (based on experience)

Job Type: Full-Time | Non-Exempt | Benefits-Eligible

About the Opportunity

Join a well-established organization deeply involved in community-focused programming across Southern California. We are seeking a Manager, Sports to help coordinate and grow regional sports initiatives, with a focus on Orange County. This hands-on, full-time position plays a key role in organizing seasonal sports events, supporting local programs and volunteers, and fostering inclusive sports opportunities for athletes of all abilities.

This role is 100% onsite in Santa Ana, CA, and supports one of California's largest community-focused nonprofit contractors.

What You’ll Do

• Plan and manage community sports events from start to finish
• Support volunteers, athletes, and partners across a wide range of local programs
• Help coordinate coaching resources, facility needs, and event logistics
• Work closely with schools, nonprofits, and community groups to grow participation
• Ensure programs align with organizational standards and safety protocols
• Provide training and education for local coaches and volunteers
• Collaborate with other departments on events, fundraising, and outreach
• Track program progress, maintain compliance, and manage reporting

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Recreation, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 4+ years in program or sports event coordination, community outreach, or youth engagement
• 2+ years in volunteer or staff supervision
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is a plus
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work weekends/events as needed
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort using internal databases

Preferred but Not Required

• Special Olympics experience
• Budget planning or project coordination experience
• Familiarity with community athletics or school-based programs
