Job Description:

The Tasting Room Server is responsible for ensuring that guests are offered an enjoyable visit reflecting

the high customer service standards of Mount Palomar Winery. They ensure all details of service are

performed properly and every guest receives the highest quality of service. A Tasting Room Server must

maintain a professional appearance and friendly attitude toward guests, other employees and

management staff. This is a sales position. Tasting Room Servers are expected to sell to every guest and

maintain a minimum sales goal.

Responsibilities:

 Pleasantly educate our guests on wine, pour tastings and glasses and sell wine and club

memberships to guests while maintaining safe and friendly environment.

 Inform guests of their tasting options and sell according to their desires.

 Sell wine and wine club memberships meeting individual and group sales goals.

 Ensure bar and service area is organized, clean and neat at all times.

 Replenish supplies in the tasting bar area, including wine, beer, glassware, napkins and other

related items.

 Be prepared to describe products served and make recommendations as requested.

 Recognize and notify management of any problems resulting from guest complaints,

intoxication or disruptive behavior.

 Notify management of unsafe conditions, needed maintenance of tables, chairs, carpet and/or

equipment and any accidents.

 Follow all procedures when responding to any emergency or safety situation.

 Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by supervisors as deemed appropriate.

Qualifications :

 Minimum six (6) months experience working in sales and customer service.

 Has the ability to work under pressure in fast paced environment while practicing exceptional

organizational and time management skills.

 Must be reliable, available weekends, holidays and special events which are peak volumes

times.

 Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

 Knowledge of types of wine, beer and other beverage related items.

 Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks.

 Excellent communication skills, professional appearance, and naturally friendly.

 Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Non Slip shoes, back belt if lifting over

20lbs, safety glove when using knife)

Work Environment:

 Mount Palomar is a working winery with production spaces, event spaces, vineyards, and guest

areas. Mixed area types include office environments, wine and vineyard production areas, and

guest areas including a restaurant, tasting room, and event space.

 Mount Palomar is a fast paced, high-energy, moderately noisy environment containing multiple

personality types. Can become crowded and high-pressure, especially on the weekends and

during holiday period.

 Mount Palomar includes indoor and outdoor environments, subject to hot and cold elements.
