Position Summary:
Join the Vallen team as the The primary purpose and objective for the LSS (Life Safety Services) Temp Service Tech- Projects. In this position you will design and develop Water Based, Suppression Systems, Alarm Systems and/or Fall Protection Systems Designs for industrial customers. Technical consultation for internal and external customers. Assists other designers with concept for more complicated Industrial designs. Assists with coordination/delegation of design assignments based on other designer skills and required completion dates.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: \n - Installing Life Safety Systems, conducting service calls, perform system testing and inspections to the prescribed standards.
\n - Performing on-site emergency troubleshooting and maintaining of customer's Life Safety Systems by identifying code issues and discrepancies.
\n - Preparing accurate, timely Technician worksheets (TWS) and reports.
\n - Providing customer service in the area of installation of Life Safety Systems. Including, but not limited to: Fire Alarm and Detection Systems, Gas Detection Systems, Foam Systems, Dry Chemical Systems, Clean Agent Systems, Special Hazard Systems and Water Based Systems.
\n - Basic knowledge of regulatory standards pertaining to assigned duties, i.e., State, OSHA, and NFPA regulations, etc.
\n - Assist in shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders & distributing to sales associates for processing.

Job Qualifications: \n - High School or GED
\n - Minimum 1 Certification (manufacturing/state) in a fire protection related field
\n - Minimum 1-year related experience
\n - Mechanically inclined
\n - Specific - RELEVENT experience
\n \n - Experience in the installation and/or maintenance, repair and service of life safety systems and equipment.
\n - Ability to repair and service equipment sold by Vallen.
\n - Current Motor Vehicle License with good driving record.
\n - Commercial Driver's License required if carrying loads of hazardous materials.
\n - Proficient with hand tools.
\n - Able to complete repairs and maintenance of equipment in a timely and accurate manner.
\n - Assist warehouse personnel with order fulfillment if needed.
\n - Maintain minimum productivity of 95% within 60 days.
\n - Keep all certifications and licenses current and renewed by completing continuing education as required.
\n - Ability to read, write and comprehend English (operational, process and quality instructions).
\n - Must pass Drug & Alcohol screen, Physical exam, and background check.

\n - Possibility of working in hazardous environments when working within a plant which would require safety precautions and appropriate equipment.

\n - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
\n - Occasional lifting of items weighting a maximum of 55 pounds.
\n - Ability to climb stairwells up to 15 levels high.
\n - Ability to ascend and descend ladders (step, extension, cage) up to 24' high.
\n - Able to walk at a normal pace for up to 15 continuous minutes.
\n - Able to work from a standing position for 8-10 hours.
\n - Bending, climbing, and stooping as needed for access of equipment to repair and service.
\n - Pass all test requirements to be approved to work offshore. (If Applicable)
