This position is responsible for coordinating trauma care management across the continuum of trauma care, including planning and implementing of clinical protocols / practice management guidelines, monitoring care of in-hospital patients, and serving as a resource for clinical practice. Minimum qualifications include current unencumbered licensure with the WV Board of Registered Professional Nurses or appropriate state board, or current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC), and obtaining certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC within 30 days of hire. Experience required is three years trauma clinical experience in Emergency Department or Critical Care. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) and certifications such as CEN or CCRN. Core duties include coordinating trauma care management, ensuring compliance with Trauma Center Designation Criteria, staff development, educational program development, monitoring clinical outcomes, managing operational aspects of Trauma Services, assisting Trauma Registry, acting as consultant/liaison, participating in research and trauma care system development, communicating professionally with patients and staff, and participating in quality initiatives. Physical requirements include ability to lift and move patients up to 35 pounds using appropriate equipment. Working environment involves working closely with others, irregular hours, exposure to biohazards, infectious diseases, water, and electrical hazards. Skills required include knowledge of scientific principles, nursing procedures, and effective communication.
