Schedule & Hours

• Shift: Day shift (Monday – Friday)
• Shift Length: 8 hours (typically 7:00 AM–3:30PM)
• Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week
• Orientation: 24 hours provided

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support the Surgical Services department. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of surgical procedures , instrumentation, and sterile technique while assisting surgeons and nurses in the operating room . This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate surgical team needs to ensure safe and efficient patient care. Professionalism, adaptability, and teamwork within a fast-paced surgical environment are essential.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and nurses during operative procedures by preparing instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and infection control protocols.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures.
• Support turnover and cleaning of operating rooms in collaboration with the team.
• Participate in high-demand surgical cases, including orthopedics, general surgery, gynecology, trauma, and endoscopy.

Required Qualifications

• Active CST certification (NCCT or NBSTSA).
• Current BLS certification (AHA required).
• Minimum 3 years of recent surgical technologist experience with a strong orthopedic background.
• Experience in SPD (Sterile Processing Department) and HLD (High-Level Disinfection) preferred.
• Previous travel experience is highly preferred.

• Care Setting: Acute – Operating Room
• Charting System: EpicCare Inpatient (Epic Systems)
• Trauma Level: Critical Access Hospital (CAH)
• Suites: 4 OR suites + 1 Endoscopy suite
• Average Cases: ~8 per day
• Leadership: Charge Nurse and Assistant Nurse Manager present on each shift
